Our Story
Resurgent Health was founded to fix what was broken in traditional primary care: rushed 15-minute visits, surprise bills, and doctors who barely had time to remember your name. Dr. Kristine Martens, DO and Aly Dahl, PA-C had spent years inside insurance-driven medicine, watching patients slip through the cracks because there was never enough time.
In 2023, they opened North Dakota's first Direct Primary Care (DPC) clinic. Instead of billing insurance for every service, patients pay a flat monthly membership. That single change unlocks the kind of medicine both providers had always wanted to practice: longer visits, same-day access, direct messaging, and transparent wholesale pricing on labs and medications.
Today Resurgent Health serves families across Fargo, Moorhead, West Fargo and Horace, from newborns through geriatric patients. Alongside primary care, we offer osteopathic manipulative therapy, medical weight loss, aesthetics and wellness therapies, all under one roof.
Our goal is to help restore the trust that has been fading within the healthcare system by showing our community that compassionate, personalized, evidence-based care is still possible. When clinicians have the time to build meaningful relationships and provide consistent, timely follow-up, healthcare becomes more connected, proactive, and human again.

Dr. Martens grew up in a single-parent household in Billings, Montana. She attended college at Concordia College in Moorhead and went on to medical school at Nova Southeastern University - College of Osteopathic Medicine in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. She then completed 3 years of Family Medicine specialty training at the Rapid City Regional Hospital Family Medicine Residency Program in Rapid City, South Dakota before returning to Fargo in 2013 where she has been practicing full scope Family Medicine ever since.
Aly Dahl grew up in a small community in rural North Dakota prior to moving to Fargo. She completed her Bachelor of Science degree in Respiratory Therapy and her Master of Physician Assistant Studies at the University of North Dakota in 2017. She is a first-generation college graduate, who strives to always remember her roots and where she came from.
Megan is a North Dakota native who grew up in West Fargo. She worked diligently and earned her RN degree in 2023.
